!! SHOW MOVED TO WEDNESDAYS THIS FALL !!

MEET THE HOST

I’M EVE (they/them), AND I HAVE THE PLEASURE OF FINDING NEW LOCAL MUSIC EVERY WEEK. I love the nyc music scene and I want to promote everything i find!

I run everything having to do with brooklyn buzz, and my voice is the one you hear on air! i also work at the wpir station when i’m not working on my own show.

This is my final year at wpir and i’m getting ready to swap the campus studio for something in the nyc music scene myself — hit me up if you’ve got leads!

WHAT YOU MISSED THIS PAST WEEK…

OCTOBER 8TH, 2025

This week I played solely music that had been submitted to me while I was off-air! Lot’s of really good stuff, and a lot of really kind people reaching out and wanting to share their song. Sharing kind local people’s music is everything I ever want to do on Brooklyn Buzz! Make sure to check out all these wonderful people :)

This song came out back in April. In the description they gave me they explained it is all about birds, rebirth, and the concept of just getting to exist. I think it’s so beautiful and all of those concepts come across well in this tune. My girlfriend really liked this one when she was tuning in, and that’s always a great sign and a high compliment. If you like this sort of dreamy, in-your-head music, check out all of Frances Baker’s music.

allforyou ~ Frances Baker

Full disclosure, this band is from Peekskill which is a liiiiiittle out of NYC… I know I usually don’t allow that but for this tune I reasoned that they were close enough. Plus, this album was produced/recorded/mixed by Seth from Ghost Funk Orchestra and a member of The Veggies is the bassist! I don’t want to be exclusionary just because you’re a little bit of a drive away. Another full great album from April.

Blame it on the Weatherman ~ Andhi & The O’Neils

Back to Black ~ Chatterbox

This is another album from the Spring, and I think this one is crazy cooky cool. They recorded it in a freaky way where it’s one continuous audio of a more live, fun jam that they broke up into tracks afterward with interludes and full length arrangements. It’s a really unique way of doing things. The album is all about love, heartbreak, friendship, connection… And this is one of my favorite songs off of the album! It’s a cover of Amy Winehouse, and I’m such a sucker for some great bass.

Stepford wife ~ Pain don’t hurt

Super new album! This one came out only last week and it’s so good all the way through. I had a hard time picking just one tune to play today. Last week I played Diner Pets, who is a sister project of Pain Don’t Hurt’s, with some overlapping people involved. It’s all connected! Definitely give all these fantastic people a listen.

Mind the Gap ~ Desk Job,

Desk Job is very pop-punky, and I always think of them as sounding very 2000’s nostalgia. I feel like this song specifically sounds like Owl City, which I mean as a huge compliment. Who doesn’t love Owl City, especially if you were born when I was? I’d say Desk Job is good at appealing to die-hard fans of the genre as well as newcomers too, which you always love to see.

Credit Card ~ Debbie Dopamine

Frequent listeners will know Debbie Dopamine has gotten ample play time on Brooklyn Buzz because I LOVE Debbie Dopamine. This song is off of their EP that came out back in June, called “Mandibles.” I went through a phase of listening to “Negative Space” on repeat off of this same album for a while. It’s very gender. As the band themselves put it, this album is full of gnashing teeth and tender feelings. A lot of passion, fury, themes of gender identity, loneliness, romance…

⚝ AND! They have a show coming up on October 25th! I wonder if it’ll be spooky since it is so close to Halloween… Definitely check out those tickets, it seems like their shows are so energetic and fun.

Sundance Kid ~ Belle Shea

I love Belle Shea <3 This song is off of their EP that came out in July, called “Vetiver.” Also another great song with the same name as the album. I had a hard time picking which song to play off of this one as well, but I picked this one ultimately because I posted about it back when it came out!

⚝ Belle Shea also has a show coming up on November 2nd in the Lower East Side! She is opening for Melanie Hererra!? Double hit combo of fantastic!

This song is a complete vibe turn-around. We just listened to beautiful Belle which is very in-your-feelings, and now we are gonna switch to some hardcore ROCK. We don’t discriminate, we love all the genres here. In my free time I probably listen mostly to rock so I don’t know how my shows always become so soft… Anyway, I had to give a warning for the switch up. Get ready to have your socks knocked off.

From the Dark ~ RydeR

On an Island ~ Monster Furniture

One of my absolute favorite discoveries of the past couple of years. I played “Tripwares” off of a previous album of theirs, god, probably almost two years ago now. So, I was so excited when I got the Band Camp notification that they released more music. This is a little bit of a cheat on this show of submissions because I’m treating this notification as a “submission” lmao. I just love the song so much!

I posted this band a whole bunch in my absence because they had great release after great release! Recently they had a full album, “Yam for Future Scars,” come out in August and it was so so good. Such unique and beautiful vocals in all of these songs, they are what always stand out to me when I listen to Wetsuit. There were so many great songs to choose from but I had to pick “Midwest Dream” for today because I’m from the midwest so it was properly tugging on my heartstrings.

Midwest Dream ~ Wetsuit

That Dude ~ Short Porch

This is a single off of an album that only came out last friday!! [After I had my show on Wednesday – now I can say it is a great listen all the way through!] They also had a release show on the same day [now past] at Cassette where they played with a couple other bands, including Bummercamp whom I’ve played on BK Buzz before. The full album is called “Hot and Ready,” make sure you give it a listen. I was really obsessed with all the single releases because they had awesome album art with slices of pizza that had toppings arranged to spell out the album titles.
